The word kerb refers to the edge or corner of an area – a corner stone. It goes by various names (edging stone), (border stone), (“bordiuli”) and so on. It is used for landscaping, in green areas and promenades where boundaries need to be defined, and in places where a so-called barrier is desirable.

A road kerb is considerably thicker – 15 cm – which means it can withstand heavier loads. It is therefore typically used when surfacing roads, pavements and industrial areas.
